Emma Schimminger

Emma is pleased to join Lightning Strikes as Production Manager, having worked in many capacities, including Lighting Designer, on the company's most recent production, Lightning Falls . Before her recent move to NYC, Emma worked extensively in Western New York as a lighting designer for a number of small professional theatres, including the Kavinoky Theatre (Book of Days), Ujima Theatre Company (The Colored Museum , The Amen Corner ), Paul Robeson Theatre (Polk County), and the Buffalo Ensemble Theatre (Mr. Benny). In 2004, Emma received the ARTVOICE Theatre Award for Outstanding Lighting Design for her work on the Buffalo United Artists production of Shakespeare’s R & J. In addition to her design work, Emma has served as a master electrician, set designer, and sound designer. She was the Technical Director for three years with the Irish Classical Theatre Company under the artistic leadership of former Abbey Theatre members, and was the Resident Stage Manager for several seasons with Shakespeare in Delaware Park, the nation’s second largest free outdoor Shakespeare festival. NY credits include designs for InnerAct, The Town Hall, Columbia Prep, and of course, Lightning Strikes. Emma is a graduate of the Theatre Department of the University at Buffalo.
