Kathy Cortez
Kathy Cortez was born in 'da Bronx, but grew up in Upstate New York, where she learned how to ride a bike. Kathy can be seen onstage in theatrainplays, an ongoing series of short, original plays written on one round trip on the A train, and performed at The Neighborhood Playhouse the next evening. Other favorites include the original roles of "Jennifer" in The Wedding Album, "Kyle" in Mushroom Pie and "Kate" in Fish Pond (The Gallery Players), "Elena" in A Night to Forget (The Kraine Theater), "Foami" in In the California Home for the Criminally Beautiful (The American Theater of Actors), and "Alicia" in Yo Soy Latina (HERE Arts Center). Her most recent television appearance was as the State Nurse (of a mental hospital, mind you) on As the World Turns. You can also catch Kathy in the recurring role of "Nurse Carmen" on both All My Children and One Life to Live on ABC-TV every once in a while, and she also starred as "Ana" in Fly Trap (winner, Best Film, SlamDunk Film Festival).
